VERNON, AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY ‘CABINET MAKER’ WATERCOLOUR Design for a ‘Cream Lacquer cabinet on silver gilt stand’, Made out to Mrs E. Will’, marked Vernon, 28 North Audley St, London’, bearing label to reverse ‘Stephanie Hoppen, The British Antique Dealers Association’, in ebonised wooden frame.

The top of the drawing contains inscriptions that describe the cabinet’s purpose and the manufacturer or designer. Referencing “Liquor Cabinet” and “Maison Krieger,” the well known French furniture-making firm known for high-quality craftsmanship in the C19th and early C20th. The piece may have been an archival record from the renowned furniture maker.
